XML Sitemap
You can use Yoast WordPress SEO plugin to add a sitemap to your site. Click SEO / XML Sitemaps and press the XML sitemap button. Copy the sitemap address and paste it in Webmaster Tools appropriate section. Make sure that you disable the taxonomies that don’t exist in your site (eg. disable tags if you don’t use them).
Make Google index only the pages that actually exist
Go to Titles & Metas and in the Taxonomies tag disable the taxonomies that don’t exist in your site.
Change your images for the facebook shares
- Go to the page you want to change the facebook share image.
- Click the Social tab.
- Upload your custom image to the Facebook Image field.
- Update your page. Done!
Troubleshooting
The most common issue with SEO plugins and WordPress themes is with titles: theme authors have a tendency to hardcode (sections of) titles into their themes. In short, your title should be not even a tiny bit longer than this:
